This entry contains the first part of the e-book "Celostna umetnina Laibach" (Laibach’s total work of art) by Barbara Borčić published by Založba /*cf in Ljubljana in 2026 (COBISS.SI-ID: 288611587, ISBN: 978-961-257-213-6). Laibach presents the public with an enigmatic aesthetic practice and a complex construct that cannot be fully decoded, since the recipient—or rather, the recipient’s perception—is a constitutive part of the effect. In this context, knowledge of the context, symbols, and history of artistic practices and movements plays a decisive role, as does the privilege of “being there”; reception, however, is primarily guided and determined by a strategy of shock.
