Slovenian writer Ivan Sivec has recorded the history of his thousand-year-old lineage in ten extensive chapters, each narrated by one of his ancestors. The novel was created with a touch of imagination and based on numerous written and visual documents that draw on the Sivec family chronicle dating back to 1590. These materials were compiled by Dr. Rajmund Lampreht, a research historian, using the Ljubljana Archdiocesan Archives, documents from the Kamnik Registry Office, and extensive scholarly literature. The novel is an archetypal work of writing, composed from the deepest and brightest depths of Sivec’s soul. |
