The #MeToo movement has sparked a wave of discussions about sexual harassment and violence, abuse of power, sexism, gender inequality... German journalist Carolin Emcke believes that public revelations of abuse have given us one thing above all else: a conversation has begun, voices of protest have risen, and this can no longer be stopped. Breaking the silence was essential. But this is (was) only the beginning. The theatrical essay "When I say yes ...", which Emcke premiered in December 2018 at Berlin’s Schaubühne theater, weaves together numerous fragments of thought, all stemming from discussions surrounding #MeToo.
