ParlaSpeech-SI pre-release and invitation to CLASSLA-Express 3.0

We are happy to announce that the ParlaSpeech-SI, the Slovenian version of the ParlaSpeech speech corpora, is now available via the CLARIN.SI NoSketch Engine concordancer. ParlaSpeech-SI contains 4.080 hours of parliamentary speech, with the accompanying transcriptions from the ParlaMint-SI corpus.

ParlaSpeech-SI is already available for browsing via the CLARIN.SI concordance tool. On this occasion, we would also like to invite you to the CLASSLA-express 3.0 workshop, which will take place on September 16 at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science within the Language Technologies and Digital Humanities conference.

Faceted search in CLARIN.SI repository not working
The CLARIN.SI repository has come under sustained attack by bots, with over a million daily queries to the repository, resulting in the complete infrastructure stopping. As the attacks are coming from over 500,000 different IP addresses, we cannot block access by address, so we have, at least provisionally, adopted a different approach. Specifically, by far the majority of queries are complex faceted searches over the contents of the repository, so we have now disabled such searches. Unfortunately, this also affects regular users, i.e. it is now not permitted to search over more than one facet of the repository – if you try this, you will receive a 403 Forbidden error. We apologise for the inconvenience while we search for a less intrusive and more permanent solution.
