On 22 November 2023, from 09:30 to 11:45, DARIAH-SI is organising a practical workshop on the SSH Open Marketplace for the Social Sciences and Humanities at the Institute of Contemporary History (Privoz 11, Ljubljana), led by Dr. Edward J. Gray, Research Infrastructure Coordinator at IR* Huma-Num (CRNS) and Head of the National Coordination of the DARIAH ERIC. The topic of the workshop will be the SSH Open Marketplace, a portal that brings together and contextualises the resources of the social sciences and humanities research communities.

We are pleased to announce that the ParlaMint parliamentary corpora from 26 parliaments are now also available in a machine translated version to English. The corpora are available on the CLARIN.SI repository, as well as on the CLARIN.SI concordancers noSketch Engine and KonText.

Please note that the English-language corpus on the concordancers is a parallel one, aligned on the sentence-level with the corpus comprising all the 26 ParlaMint corpora in their original language.

We are pleased to announce that new parliamentary corpora from 26 parliaments are now available on the CLARIN.SI repository. The corpora are available both in plain text version, as well as linguistically annotated version. The linguistically annotated corpora are also integrated and can be queried via our concordancers – NoSketch Engine and KonText

We are pleased to announce that pilot versions (v0.1) of the CLASSLA-web corpora are now available within the CLASSLA Knowledge Center.  The corpora include Croatian (2.3 billion words), Serbian (2.4 billion words) and Slovenian (1.9 billion words).

In addition to the new corpora, a tutorial on the usage of CLASSLA-web corpora through the concordancers CLARIN.SI has been published.

We are pleased to welcome a new member to the CLARIN.SI consortium – the National and University Library of Slovenia.

The National and University Library (NUK) is the Slovenian national library, the central state library and the university library of the University of Ljubljana, the national aggregator of e-content for Europeana, and the home of the Digital Library of Slovenia.

The Institute of Contemporary History (INZ) in Ljubljana is accepting applications for the Visiting Fellowship program. Visits are to take place between October 1, 2023 and October 1, 2024.

The application deadline is July 1, 2023

Repository CLARIN.SI will not be open to new submissions on December 21-22 due to planned downtime for upgrades.

CLARIN.SI Crystal noSketch Engine concordancer is an open-source version of the commercial Sketch Engine, developed by Lexical Computing, that now offers a new and improved user interface, Crystal.

We are pleased to announce that Jakob Lenardič is the recipient of the award for the best doctoral dissertation in humanities and social sciences at the Faculty of Arts, the University of Ljubljana in 2020/2021. He received the award for his work “Skladenjsko-pomenska razčlemba srednjiških zgradb v tvorbeno-pretvorbeni slovnici.”
