 Description

This entry contains the first part of the audiobook "Vsak zase in Bog proti vsem" (Every man for himself and god against all) by author Werner Herzog, translated to Slovenian by Anja Naglič and narrated by Gal Oblak (COBISS.ID 302114819, ISBN 978-961-298-628-5). In "Every man for himself and god against all", Werner Herzog recounts the story of his artistic journey. He was born on September 5, 1942, in Munich, at a time when Germany was caught in the maelstrom of the Second World War. Following Germany’s defeat, a new world had to be built upon the ruins and the horrors of war. Fleeing the Allied bombing raids, his mother took her sons to a remote, rural part of Bavaria, where Werner spent most of his childhood hungry, without running water, and in dire conditions. As a young man, he traveled alone by hitchhiking, eventually finding himself in Egypt, where he waited for death in a state of delirium. Amidst the formation of the new post-war order, he emerged as one of the most profound and incisive filmmakers.
