 Description

This entry contains the first part of the audiobook "Fina Jakobina" (Joyful Jacobina) by author Andreja Borin and narrated by Ana Ličina (COBISS ID 302897411, ISBN 978-961-7295-14-6). A poetic narrative that tells a lively and warm-hearted story of Jacobina, a dark-skinned refugee whose arrival unsettles a quiet town. Barefoot, dressed in colourful clothes, carrying a snakeskin bag, with flowers around her hat and an infectious laugh, she initially makes the townspeople uneasy. But her confectionery shop, filled with irresistible treats, slowly opens their hearts and pushes the boundaries of their prejudices. Through humour, a strong dramatic arc and vivid characters, the author addresses themes of displacement, racism and acceptance of difference.
