 Description

This entry contains the first part of the audiobook "Utrip Zambije skozi stetoskop" (Zambia’s heartbeat through a stethoscope) by author Anamarija Mihovec and narrated by Vesna Tolopovec (COBISS.SI-ID 302703107, ISBN 978-961-7290-16-5). Six friends studying medicine and dentistry set off on a three-month humanitarian mission to the Zambian village of Nangoma. Their journey becomes an unforgettable experience, filled with new insights, unexpected challenges and genuine human connections. Through personal diary entries, we follow their work at the local hospital, their encounters with patients and everyday life in an African community. Faced with complex medical cases and limited healthcare resources, they discover a different way of life, distinctive cultural traditions and the extraordinary hospitality of local people. Zambia’s Heartbeat Through a Stethoscope is a candid, insightful and occasionally humorous account of volunteering, friendship and solidarity. The book reveals how helping others can also transform those who offer their help, inviting reflection on gratitude, compassion and the value of human connection.
