 Description

This entry contains the first part of the audiobook "Upanje nikoli ne umre" (Hope never dies) by author Ivan Sivec (COBISS.SI-ID 290580227, ISBN 978-961-291-573-5). In the ninth installment of the Slovenian Castle Stories series, writer Ivan Sivec travels to Polzela, following in the footsteps of the famous Knights of Malta and journeying into the second half of the eighteenth century. At that time, the Knights of Malta lived in Komenda Castle, the locals were building a magnificent church on Mount Oljka, raftsmen were still working in the Upper Savinja Valley, and hops were only beginning to gain importance in the Valley of Green Gold. At the heart of the story is the love between Andraž and Nežika, alongside a wealth of folk customs and traditions. The novel follows the rise of the brave young Andraž from his birthplace to the island of Malta, through knightly battles and his eventual elevation among the most distinguished members of the order. Every legend is born from real events and, over the years, only gains in breadth and depth.
