In this gripping, surprising, and informative story, we follow in the footsteps of Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian, the younger brother of Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I, who became Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico. Mexico may be far away, but the Miramar Castle is not—it was his dream home, where, as a lover of Egypt, he wanted to create a true Egyptian museum. This is where a local figure also enters the story and history: the collector Anton Lavrin from Vipava. And, of course, there is the mysterious sphinx, which fascinated Maximilian in particular. Through gripping, surprising, and informative stories, the series will explore lesser-known aspects of history connected either with Slovenians abroad or with foreigners in our lands.
