They have been collapsing for decades, but we have only noticed it now, when neoliberalism has already begun to transition into fascism. The subject of this book is the “real” backdrop to these processes. They reveal to us the path of capitalism: growth, development, saturation, decay. And beyond that: what is already emerging in these backwaters of the new, what is already here, in its infancy, after the collapse. We enter the realm of themes that are already breaking free from the now-defunct narrative of the old left and have already begun to define new, contemporary ones: about the material and the post-material, the individual and the communal.
