Description: This entry contains the first part of the audiobook "Neslišni kriki" (Silent screams) by many authors, edited by Anej Sam and narrated by Simona Kopinšek (COBISS.SI-ID 303582723, ISBN 978-961-291-587-2). The first book of its kind to document and comprehensively examine the most horrifying phenomenon in the history of civilisation: a growing number of children no longer want to live. Numerous writers explore this phenomenon in ways children can understand (Chapter One). Specialists in relevant fields examine the same issue and suggest ways of overcoming this distressing situation (Chapter Two). The book also contains something unprecedented in publishing history. In his afterword—an addition to the book—the editor sought to highlight a phenomenon of our time that, in his view, leads modern societies to conceal certain circumstances that cause severe emotional distress and erode the will to live. He identifies this primarily as so-called political correctness. Yet the European mindset cannot accommodate this within its own narrow intellectual and ethical framework—the book is, after all, part of an EU project. The book therefore includes a separate booklet containing the editor’s supplement, which he prepared independently of Jasa. This adds another distinctive element to the book’s originality and value. Authors of the stories: Barbara Gregorič Gorenc, Darinka Kozinc, Saša Šega Crnič, Mateja Gomboc, Andrej Brvar, Cvetka Bevc, Amadeja Godina, Jurij Popov, Kaja Kramar, Maja Centa, Aksinja Kermauner, Tanja Jelenko, Benjamin Žnidaršič, Cvetka Sokolov, Vinko Möderndorfer, Liljana Jarh, Slavica Remškar and Tjaša Zorc Rupnik.
