 Description

This entry contains the first part of the audiobook "Snežno znamenje" (The snow sign) by author Leopold Suhodolčan (COBISS.SI-ID 292951811, ISBN 978-961-7194-67-8), read by Mirjam Kepic. The Snow Sign is a war novel by Leopold Suhodolčan, set in the first days after the end of the Second World War. Štefan, a partisan printer, returns home but does not find the peace he had hoped for. After his harrowing wartime experiences, he struggles to adjust to his new life and is increasingly haunted by a mysterious event from the war—the death of his brother. As he searches for his place in the post-war world, he becomes romantically involved with his brother’s widow, Pavlina. Their intimacy is shaped by the past, suspicion and moral dilemmas. Moving between the war years and the present, the story gradually reveals the truth about his brother’s death. Štefan must confront guilt, loss, love and the question of whether it is possible to move forward when the past refuses to let go. The Snow Sign is a poignant and introspective story about the aftermath of war, the secrets we carry within us and the boundaries between love, guilt and redemption.
