Borut Gombač’s new poetry collection, "Sezi mi v besedo", is an encounter with the word, with vocabulary, and with the text itself. It is a poetic deconstruction that thoughtfully reflects both inner and outer states—whether it concerns the world where birds and vines appear, or the individual subject who reflects, writes, and observes. It dissects down to the ultimate meaning and tears apart the "innermost interior," to paraphrase the poet’s own lines. This is the poetic insight Borut Gombač favors and has remained faithful to throughout his body of work from the very beginning. Seemingly disparate absurdities connect, yet in reality, they are intimately linked: "The ear / never / falls / silent." A poetic world opens up to me—one that is so often overlooked or viewed only superficially. The text comes alive and flows forward, as if, amidst the adiabatic heating of asphalt, the clearest meaning suddenly emerges from images that were previously shadowed or left unspoken—or from familiar images that the author turns around and illuminates from a different perspective.
