Mist, Patch and Harbour once formed a single city, but then Harbour was overtaken by concrete and asphalt, while a new and ostentatious district of glass palaces, arrogantly named Elysium, forced its way between Harbour and Mist. The city landfill has also continued to expand and is now encroaching on the ancient forest. The world is monitored by swarms of drones, while order is imposed by the Guardians through violence and repression. Soon there will be no room left for those who refuse to conform, for outsiders and eccentrics, for the "coloured" - or for many other people and things. Libraries and books, for example. Trees and forests. Community itself. At this critical moment, the paths of three teenagers - Edo, Oskar and Jara - become intertwined. Each comes from a different world and each is trying to find their own way, unaware that they share a mysterious past and that uncovering it may prove dangerous. Snow is a coming-of-age novel about teenagers growing and maturing in difficult circumstances, when their youth is shaped not only by their personal stories but also by a historical moment that calls for resistance. Marjana Moškrič takes us on a gripping journey into the past and towards a truth that reaches beyond a world of superficial splendour, leading us back to what truly matters - nature and a deeper wisdom.
