This entry includes the first part of the e-book "O sranju" (On bullshit) by author Harry G. Frankfurt, translated by dr. Igor Rižnar (COBISS.SI-ID 270123523, ISBN 978-961-7272-34-5). “Although Frankfurt was not the first to be disturbed by the excessive amount of bullshit that results when a large number of politicians, journalists or experts get together and deal with incomprehensible details in any field, he should be credited with the fact that after the publication of his essay, interest in understanding and analyzing bullshit increased tremendously.” In the accompanying essay, translator Dr. Igor Rižnar analyzes a series of texts that preceded Frankfurt’s essay, as well as texts that in one way or another built on Frankfurt’s work. He touches on areas ranging from marketing, social media and ChatGPT to nonsensical discourse in higher education, management and politics.
