“This is a true story. A story that really happened. I want to tell it so that what happened to me does not happen to you.” Ajda is an ordinary teenager. She has secrets, crushes and friends. Her life feels safe – until it suddenly isn’t. One click. One wrong decision. One person who is not who they seem. Erin finds herself in a world without rules. This is not just a story, but a warning: behind screens, false smiles can hide. Yet it is also a story about courage. Read it. If you dare.

Spin is a bold, genre-blending novel that fuses political intrigue, economic conspiracy, and human drama into a high-stakes literary thriller. Named after an aerodynamic phenomenon—where control is suddenly lost—spin becomes a striking metaphor for the chaos that unfolds when people and systems spiral out of control. Spanning from Siberia to Central Europe, the story follows a diverse cast: a Czech violinist, a Yakut oligarch, a Swiss businessman—each caught in a web of espionage, secrets, and personal reckoning. As past and present collide, survival becomes a test of character. But Spin is more than a thriller. It’s a powerful reflection on loyalty, love, and spirituality in a world driven by greed. In extreme situations, the characters take the helm—uncertain if the system still works. From a skillful maneuver to catastrophe, there’s only one step.

The closure of the shelter puts the Starpaw brothers through a difficult ordeal—they were happy there until, one day, their mother, Luna, mysteriously disappears. They know nothing of the world beyond the fence, but they decide to venture out together before the machines destroy the only home they have ever known. In this book, we follow Cosmo, Astro, Nova, and Sol on an exciting journey to discover whether freedom can ever replace home. Their adventure even takes them to outer space, where they meet a friendly drifter named Oscar, the playful Softpaw Pack, a charming dog named Strelka, and, on the Planet of Bones, the peculiar and slightly arrogant Three Overlord Mystics—or simply, the TOMs. But above all, they find what they have been longing for most—love.

September 1532. The Turks stand at the gates of Maribor. They are led by Suleiman the Magnificent himself. From the perspective of human history, this is but a fleeting episode. For the people who were there, however, it is infinitely more. And it is precisely about them that Dragan Potočnik writes. Not in the black-and-white manner of stories about heroes and cowards, love and hatred, loyalty and betrayal. Potočnik allows his characters to be human. For whether they stand on this side of the wall or the other, they are all part of the same story. A story which, from the viewpoint of human history, is merely an episode, yet for them it is infinitely more. A story that is eternal—always the same and always different, and above all, without exception, complex and multi-layered. Because “the hatred we nurture is not always our own. Sometimes we inherit it. And perhaps we can also lay it down.” The writer’s and researcher’s passion also fills the pages of Potočnik’s novel Morporuk. The Turkish siege of Maribor in 1532—almost forgotten five hundred years later—was explored by the author in meticulous detail, but not merely to present its chronology. Time is more than a sequence of events; it is their experience, both intimate and collective. And all the characters in the novel, whether on the side of the invaders or the besieged, experience the events in full vitality—not in a black-and-white picture of good and evil, but in the richness of color and nuance, which is the only palette with which life can truly and meaningfully be painted.

Kekec, Mojca, and Rožle find themselves in a world where reality intertwines with legends. In their search for a lost book that preserves the balance between nature and humankind, they embark on a journey that leads them across snowy ledges, hidden sanctuaries, and encounters with creatures not found in ordinary stories. The magic capricorn Zlatorog, the wild man Bedanec, and the wizard Kosabrin—each of them holds a piece of a mystery the children must unravel. But the journey is not easy. Evil bears a human face, while courage is born where everything seems lost.

Lara is almost thirteen, in eighth grade (she skipped seventh!), and loves numbers, the piano and Garfield. As the child of divorced parents, she lives a kind of double life: one week in Vrhnika, the next in Ljubljana. Half her time is spent in a small flat with her mother, who is struggling financially, and the other half with her wealthy but aggressive father. Living between two worlds fills Lara with anxiety, but it is the arrival of a blue envelope that shakes her life so profoundly that she decides to act. Her path then becomes fatefully intertwined with the lives of a group of refugees at the Slovenian–Croatian border. The story unfolds in 2015, a year in which the future of many people – like Lara’s – was dangerously unsettled. Don’t Worry, Lara! is a story of confinement, escape and the search for a way forward. It is also a story of youth, hope and new beginnings, told by Lara herself with honesty, sharp insight, humour and great sensitivity.

The new book by acclaimed writer Dušan Šarotar, "Waystations of the journey", presents five travel essays that seamlessly move between deeply meditative reflections expressed in masterful poetic language and tangible references from art, culture, and the vast reservoir of human knowledge and creativity. These elements organically ground the texts in the real dimension of lived experience. This duality within unity embodies the author’s idea of two realms that never fully coincide, even though they closely resemble one another. The author’s artistic photographs, forming a sixth, nonverbal essay, open up a path into a new and unexpected dimension of the reading experience.

Inspired by true events, this novel unveils a chilling story of a well-respected family torn apart by an unimaginable tragedy. Peter Magdič, a distinguished university professor, and his devoted wife Sofija, also a lecturer, live what seems to be a perfect life. Their sons, Lukas and Marko, are symbols of success and promise. But beneath the surface, darkness brews. Marko, the younger son, finds himself at a crossroads after finishing high school. Instead of stepping into a bright future, he becomes ensnared in a web of pain, manipulation, and a false sense of security. Strangers lurking behind screens distort reality and prey on his vulnerability. What begins as a search for excitement quickly spirals into despair, shame, and hopelessness. And ultimately death. Faceless is more than a novel—it’s a warning. A gripping thriller that exposes the dark side of social media and unflinchingly reveals how fragile the line is between youthful curiosity and complete identity collapse.
